Quran AI — Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the Quran AI mobile application (the "App"), published by Appfide Private Limited ("Appfide," "we," "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, your use is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). Where these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA prevails to the extent of the conflict. If you downloaded the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

Our handling of your data is described in the Quran AI Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, or not old enough to form a binding contract where you live, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for any purchases.

3. What Quran AI Does

Quran AI is a Qur'an reader with an AI study companion, prayer times, a Qibla compass, a tasbih counter, the 99 Names of Allah, a Hijri calendar and a hifz tracker.

  • The Qur'anic text is never generated by AI. It comes from the Tanzil Uthmani text (Hafs 'an 'Asim) bundled with the App and checked against a checksum. The English translation is by the Rowad Translation Center (QuranEnc.com). These texts remain subject to the terms of their publishers.
  • AI answers are a study aid. They are generated automatically by a third-party AI provider, can be incomplete or mistaken, and are not fatwas or religious rulings. The App does not replace a qualified scholar or teacher. Check anything important with one, and do not rely on an AI answer for legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
  • Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated from your location and the calculation method you choose. They can differ from your local mosque, and the compass depends on your device's sensors. Follow your local mosque or authority where they differ. The Hijri date may differ from your local moon sighting; you can adjust it in Settings.

4. Quran AI Premium — Auto-Renewing Subscriptions

Quran AI is free to download. A Quran AI Premium subscription is required to use the App, including the AI study companion. It is offered monthly, every 3 months and yearly. The price and details are shown on the subscription screen before you subscribe.

  • The yearly plan may include a free trial for eligible new subscribers. If it does, the App shows it before you subscribe, and the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription in your store account settings (on iPhone and iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Your subscription is linked to the Apple or Google account you bought it with. After reinstalling the App or moving to a new device, use Restore purchases while signed in to the same store account.
  • Prices are set in your local currency by the store and may include applicable taxes. We will tell you in advance of any price increase as the store requires.

5. Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their own policies. Except where required by the store's refund policy or by applicable law, subscription payments are non-refundable. To request a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com for App Store purchases, or Google Play's order history for Google Play purchases. If something is not working, contact us first at quran@appfide.com — we can often put it right.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the App to create content that mocks or disrespects the Qur'an, the Prophets or any faith, or that harasses, threatens or incites hatred against anyone;
  • present AI answers from the App as the words of a scholar, or as a fatwa or official ruling;
  • use the App for anything illegal where you live;
  • reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to bypass the App's security, App Check or subscription systems, or use automated means to send questions to our servers.

If an answer is wrong or inappropriate, please use the Report button on the answer, and email the report to us if you can. We may suspend or end access for breaches of these Terms.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google (Google Play and Firebase), RevenueCat, a third-party AI provider and our hosting providers. Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms apply to your use of their services.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ANY AI ANSWER WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT PRAYER TIMES OR THE QIBLA DIRECTION WILL MATCH YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITY. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPFIDE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP AND IN-APP PURCHASES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR INR 5,000, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it; remember to cancel any subscription in your store account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the App. If we discontinue the App, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, noted in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and otherwise by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Ernakulam, Kerala, India, in English. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in the country where you live.
