SoundScribe — Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the SoundScribe mobile application (version 2.0 and later, the "App"), published by Appfide Private Limited ("Appfide," "we," "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, your use is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). Where these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA prevails to the extent of the conflict. If you downloaded the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
Our handling of your data is described in the SoundScribe Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, or not old enough to form a binding contract or to consent to data processing where you live, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for any purchases.
3. What SoundScribe Does
SoundScribe creates original music from what you describe: a prompt with the genres and moods you choose, instrumental tracks or songs sung with lyrics you write, a plan of a track section by section, or a soundtrack for a video you pick. It can also regenerate part of a track, extend a track, and split a track into stems (such as vocals, drums and bass). Tracks can be from 10 seconds to 5 minutes long.
The music is generated by our AI music provider, a third-party AI audio service. AI output is generated automatically: it can be imperfect, can differ between attempts, and may not match your description, your lyrics or the demos exactly. Tracks carry C2PA Content Credentials where supported, which mark them as made with AI. Which features are available, and what each costs, may change over time.
Demos. The App includes free demos of every mode. They are examples we made in advance and replay in the App with a simulated generation; trying one never uses credits. Demos show what SoundScribe can do; they are not a guarantee of a particular result for your own request.
4. Credits
- Creating music costs credits. One credit makes 10 seconds of music, rounded up. The cost of every action is shown before you confirm it:
- a new track, a song with lyrics, or a track from a plan: its length;
- a video soundtrack: the length of the video (up to 5 minutes);
- regenerating part of a track: the full length of the resulting track;
- extending a track: its new total length;
- splitting a track into stems: the track's length.
- Drafting a section plan is free, up to a daily limit shown in the App. Credits are only used when you generate.
- Credits are obtained by buying a credit pack (20, 45 or 110 credits) or through a SoundScribe subscription. Credit packs are consumable in-app purchases. New accounts do not receive free credits; the demos are free instead.
- Credits from credit packs never expire and have no limit.
- Subscription credits are granted at the start of each billing period (see section 5). Unused subscription credits roll over from one period to the next while you stay subscribed, up to three times the plan's allowance (90 on the Weekly plan, 270 on the Monthly plan). While your subscription credits are at that limit, a renewal adds no more until you use some. When your subscription ends, any subscription credits you have not used expire; credits from packs are not affected.
- While you are subscribed, a creation uses your subscription credits first, then credits from packs.
- Credits are used when a creation starts. If it fails, or our AI partner declines the request, the credits for it are returned automatically to your balance.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and cannot be exchanged for money.
- SoundScribe has no login: your credits belong to the anonymous account on the device you use. Restore purchases, used while signed in to the same store account, moves an active subscription and its unused subscription credits to the App on another device or installation. Credit packs are consumable and are not restored by the store; if you move to a new device and need help with credits from packs, contact us.
- Credits are not shared with Family Sharing members.
- Deleting your SoundScribe account permanently forfeits any unused credits.
5. SoundScribe Subscriptions — Auto-Renewing
SoundScribe offers two optional auto-renewing subscriptions: the Weekly plan, with 30 credits every week, and the Monthly plan, with 90 credits every month. Plan credits roll over as described in section 4. If you move from the Weekly to the Monthly plan, the new period's credits are added to the credits you already have, up to the Monthly plan's limit. The price and details are shown on the subscription screen before you subscribe.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your store account settings (on iPhone and iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or Manage subscription in the App's Settings; on Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep your plan, and its credits, until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Deleting the App or your SoundScribe account does not cancel a subscription.
- Prices are set in your local currency by the store and may include applicable taxes. We will tell you in advance of any price increase as the store requires.
6. Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their own policies. Except where required by the store's refund policy or by applicable law, purchases of credits and subscriptions are non-refundable, and credits already used are not refundable. To request a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com for App Store purchases, or Google Play's order history for Google Play purchases. If something went wrong with a specific track, contact us first at soundscribe@appfide.com — we keep a record of every creation and can often put it right.
Information we share when you ask for a refund. When you ask Apple for a refund of a SoundScribe purchase, Apple may ask us about it. By making a purchase you agree that we may tell Apple that the purchase was delivered, how much of the credits it gave you have been used, that the App offers free demos before purchase, and whether we recommend the refund. We recommend declining refunds for purchases whose credits have already been used. Apple makes the final decision. We never share your prompts, lyrics, videos or tracks for this. Google Play tells us when a purchase is refunded or voided; we do not send Google information about refund requests.
Refunded purchases. If a store refunds a purchase, the credits it gave you are taken back from your balance. For a partial refund from Apple we take back a proportional share; Google Play does not tell us the refunded share, so a refunded Google Play purchase is taken back in full. For a refunded subscription period we take back no more than the subscription credits you still hold plus those you used from that period. If you have already used the credits, your balance can become negative (shown in the App as a balance owed), and you will not be able to create anything until a new purchase or subscription renewal brings it back above zero. If the store reverses the refund, the credits are restored. We keep a record of refunds and may review accounts with repeated refunds.
7. Saving Your Tracks
SoundScribe keeps your library on your device, not on our servers. As described in the Privacy Policy:
- When a track is ready, the App saves it to your device automatically whenever the App is open, and we then delete our copy.
- A track that is never saved to your device is deleted from our servers 30 days after it was created. The App shows how long each unsaved track has left. Once it has been deleted it cannot be recovered, and the credits used to make it are not returned — so open the App to collect your tracks before then.
- Uploaded videos are deleted as soon as your soundtrack is made.
- Because we do not keep a copy, a track you delete in the App, or lose with your device or by deleting the App, cannot be re-downloaded from us. Export tracks you want to keep (for example with Share or Save to Files), and keep your device backed up.
8. Your Content and Your Music
- You keep all rights you have in the prompts, lyrics, plans and videos you provide. We claim no ownership of them, or of the tracks the App makes for you.
- Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may use the tracks you create in your own projects — for example as music for your videos. Rules on whether AI-generated music can be protected by copyright, and who owns it, differ between countries and are still developing. We do not promise that you will hold copyright in a track, that a track is unique, or that our AI partner will not create similar music for someone else. AI output can occasionally resemble existing music. You are responsible for how you use and publish your tracks, including meeting the rules of any platform you publish them on.
- You are responsible for having the right to use what you provide. Write your own lyrics or use lyrics you have permission to use, and only upload videos you have the right to use, including of any people who appear in them.
- You give us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content and tracks only as needed to provide the App to you, including sending them to our AI music provider to create your track. This licence ends when the content is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. The provider keeps a copy of generated tracks so that you can edit and extend them later. We do not use your prompts, lyrics, videos or tracks to train AI models.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights — for example by submitting the lyrics of an existing song you do not have rights to, or asking for a copy of an existing song;
- imitate or impersonate a real artist or other real person, or present a track as written, sung or performed by a real artist;
- remove or alter a track's Content Credentials, or present a track as made without AI, in order to mislead people;
- create lyrics or songs that harass, threaten or defame a real person, promote violence or hatred, or are sexual content involving minors, or any content that is illegal where you live;
- reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to bypass the App's security, attestation or payment systems, or use automated means to access our servers.
Our AI partner applies its own content filters, and some requests may be refused — for example prompts that name an artist or quote existing lyrics; the credits for a refused request are returned. If you come across a track that is offensive or inappropriate, please tell us at soundscribe@appfide.com. We may suspend or terminate access for breaches of these Terms.
10. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google (Google Play and Firebase), our AI music provider, Cloudflare and DigitalOcean. Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms apply to your use of their services.
11. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, ORIGINAL OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSE. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPFIDE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP AND IN-APP PURCHASES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR INR 5,000, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from the App (Settings → Delete account). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the App. If we discontinue the App, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, where appropriate, noted in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and otherwise by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Ernakulam, Kerala, India, in English. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in the country where you live.
